Since 2002, Our Fit Feet on the Street Program has helped put footwear on the feet of Manitoban families who would otherwise not have access to them. It is our mandate to treat all recipients of the footwear with both dignity and respect.
The initiative was inspired by an idea spearheaded by the Two Ten Foundation, which helped give back to the community in a similar fashion across Canada and the United States by providing footwear to individuals and families who lack access to proper shoes. While the Covid-19 pandemic has placed challenges on everyone, some have been impacted more than others – especially those who are marginalized. We wish to support our community in need even if it is on just the soles of their feet during this time with a pair of proper shoes that have been kindly donated by people like you.
Please pass along new and gently worn men’s footwear, women's footwear, and children’s footwear to us. We accept all types of shoes with special focus on all-season athletic footwear, walking shoes, winter boots, and sandals to provide those who don’t have access to proper footwear during the warmest and coldest times of the year.
Donations of new footwear is greatly appreciated and preferred but any gently worn footwear will be cleaned and refurbished by us. Gift certificates from other footwear retailers are also accepted and appreciated. Consideration will be given to all charities who wish to benefit from this program. Getting the footwear onto the feet of the individual in need is our #1 priority. Your generous donations have benefited many non-profit organizations including:
- Main St. Project
- Mt. Carmel Clinic
- Siloam Mission
- Wolseley Family Place
- Salvation Army
- North End Woman’s Resource Centre (The Up Shoppe)
- Inkster Parent Child Coalition
- And many others…
Footwear donations can be dropped off at any of our 3 Winnipeg Canadian Footwear locations:
- 128 Adelaide St.
- 1504 St. Mary's Rd.
- 1530 Regent Ave.
It is our mandate to treat all recipients of the footwear with both dignity and respect. Consideration will be given to all charities who wish to benefit from this program. Getting the footwear onto the feet of the individual in need is our #1 priority.
